Our impact

2024 marks ASD’s fifth year of collaboration. Since its inception in 2019, ASD has leveraged the collective ambition of its members to drive progress towards achieving sustainable production and sourcing of palm oil derivatives.

In these past five years, ASD has built a strong understanding of the complex derivatives supply chain, risks and opportunities; established a common framework for action; built collective engagement mechanisms; deployed joint actions; and strengthened those actions to advance proactivity and meet evolving sectorial and regulatory expectations.

Over the past five years, ASD has developed robust collective due diligence processes aiming to supplement ASD members’ own due diligence systems.

In 2024, we expanded the scope of our investigation:

This year, a total of 34 ASD members took part in ASD’s transparency investigation.
1,194,124 tons* of palm-based materials have been mapped
This represents about 1.5% of global palm production, about 8.5% of global palm kernel oil production, and about 7.2% of the global oils and fats market.
